Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister visits DeLaval
Tumba, Sweden (March 6th, 2009).
Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov visited Hamra Farm in Sweden on Friday to explore DeLaval technology and dairy farming solutions.
During Mr. Zubkov’s visit, DeLaval and Russian companies Rosagroleasing and Kirovsky Zavod signed a memorandum of intent whereby DeLaval will sell parts for products to be assembled in the Russian Federation for the Russian market, mainly for middle to large-sized Russian dairy farmers.
In addition DeLaval announced plans for this year to start manufacturing in the Moscow area; to assemble milking systems catered to the Russian family-size dairy farmers.
“The Russian Federation is rapidly modernizing the dairy sector and increasing domestic milk production. And we are looking forward to being a part of this next step,” says Joakim Rosengren President and CEO DeLaval International.
According to DeLaval, the discussed plans are in line with Russia’s interest to provide modern equipment and know-how to those farms that supply dairies with milk as well as ensuring high standards for dairy products for Russian consumers.
“We have a strong range of dairy solutions to supply all farm sizes and operations. The plans considered here today will benefit both the Russian dairy sector as well as DeLaval,” says Rosengren.
During the visit, Mr. Zubkov and his delegation toured Hamra Farm, including the DeLaval Tumba factory and the VMS barn showcasing the company’s Voluntary Milking System.
